Animal Collective - "Honeycomb" & "Gotham"
Can Animal Collective restore their 2k9 transcendent relevance?
Times have changed, and it will be difficult for them to appeal to people other than stoners, festival-core listeners and die hard fans. They already have an established brand, so maybe they understand they have already peaked and no longer write for the sake of critical relevancy.
Do "Honeycomb" and "Gotham" demonstrate anything new or innovative from the Collective?
They are approaching the point of complete unlistenability.
Are the two new songs "too Avey Tare" and not enough Panda Bear?
The Animal Collective team needs to ride a balance to satisfy Avey fans, Panda fans, AND Deakin fans.
