Major Lazer is a dance sound project by Diplo and Switch. Their music videos + product have 'come under fire' for being 'racist' since the exploit a culture that is not their own/has black skin. Some African Americans think that they are 'racist ass holes.'

Maybe this is a deeper metaphor for them representing their musical roots(black ppl music) and an exaggeration of pop culture/rap music culture to create awareness for how it rationalizes racism and sexism in our society (for african americans at least).
