Angsty figure skating couple ice dances to Linkin Park at Winter Olympics
Last night at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver Canada, some angsty couple from Great Britain skated to the hit song "Crawling" by Linkin Park. Linkin Park has been branded as a band that teens can turn to when no one understand their pain. The band creates a synergistic mix of rap and rock that relays deep messages to tweens and teens.
In the song "Crawling" they offer a lyrical and textural soundscape upon which an interpretive skate dance can be performed:
crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real
there's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
this lack of self-control I fear is never ending
controlling/I can't seem
to find myself again
my walls are closing in
(without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
Wonder if "Crawling" is one of the best songs of the past century. Sorta just wanna get blazed and get in touch with my pain.
The ice dancing couple is named Sinead and John Kerr. The are getting 'mad coverage' because they are siblings, and their dance moves get sexual and passionate.
Maybe they picked Linkin Park because there is some sort of 'untamed darkness' within them.
Wonder if figure skating 'peaked' a long time ago, back when competitors would do whatever it took 2 win.
Maybe Linkin Park is the only band who can understand the pain, sacrifice, and misunderstanding associated with figure skaters.
What is the most authentic Olympic event?
What music would yall figure sk8 2?
